Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 20, 2026
Singles Ward ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Singles Ward mobile application and website at singlesward.app (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. The terms used here have the same meanings as in our Terms of Service unless otherwise defined.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Data
When you sign up, we receive basic profile information from your chosen authentication provider (Google, Facebook, or Apple). This includes your name, email address, gender, and date of birth.
1.2 Profile Data
You may provide additional information to build your dating profile, including:
- Photos
- Height, job title, company, and school
- Hometown and mission location
- About text and prompt responses
1.3 Religious and Personal Attributes
To help match you with compatible people, we collect optional attributes you choose to share:
- Activity level and temple status
- Marriage status, current children, and desire for future children
- Education level, political leaning, and pets
1.4 Location Data
With your permission, we collect your GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude) to enable distance-based matching. We also derive your city, state, and country from your location. You can control location access through your device settings at any time.
1.5 Matching Preferences
We store the filters you set for potential matches, such as preferred age range, maximum distance, and attribute filters.
1.6 Communications
We store direct messages exchanged between matched users to deliver and display your conversations within the Service.
1.7 Device Data
If you enable push notifications, we store your Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) push notification token and device type so we can deliver notifications to your device.
1.8 Usage Data
We collect data about how you interact with the Service, including profile interactions (likes, dislikes, blocks, and reports). We also collect error and performance logs through Sentry to diagnose issues and improve the Service.
1.9 Authentication Tokens
We use JWT access tokens (15-minute expiry) and refresh tokens (30-day expiry with rotation) to keep your session secure. These tokens are not used for tracking purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide matching: Show you compatible profiles based on your location, preferences, and attributes.
- Enable messaging: Deliver messages between matched users.
- Ensure safety: Moderate content, enforce our Terms of Service, and respond to reports of misconduct.
- Improve the Service: Analyze usage patterns, diagnose errors, and develop new features.
- Communicate with you: Send push notifications about matches, messages, and important Service updates.
3. AI-Powered Content Moderation
We use artificial intelligence to help keep the Service safe for all users.
3.1 Photo Moderation
When you upload a photo, it is analyzed by an AI model (Cloudflare AI / LLaVA) to detect inappropriate content. Photos that are flagged may be rejected or reviewed. We do not use your photos for AI training purposes.
3.2 Message Moderation
Messages between users are analyzed by an AI model (Cloudflare AI / Llama) to detect harassment, hate speech, sexual content, and spam. Flagged messages may result in warnings or account action. We do not use your messages for AI training purposes.
4. Data Storage and Security
We take the security of your data seriously and implement commercially reasonable safeguards:
- All connections to the Service are encrypted via TLS/SSL.
- Our application is hosted on Cloudflare's global infrastructure, which provides DDoS protection and edge security.
- Photos are stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage.
- Database records are stored in Neon (managed PostgreSQL) with encryption at rest.
- Authentication tokens use short expiry windows and automatic rotation to limit exposure.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the Service. Each receives only the data necessary to perform its function:
- Cloudflare — Hosting, CDN, serverless compute (Workers), object storage (R2), and AI-powered content moderation. Cloudflare processes request data, stored files, and content submitted for moderation.
- Neon — PostgreSQL database hosting. Neon stores all structured application data including profiles, preferences, messages, and account records.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — Push notification delivery. Firebase receives your device token and notification payload.
- Google — OAuth authentication. Google shares your name, email, and profile information when you choose to sign in with Google.
- Facebook / Meta — OAuth authentication and data deletion callback. Facebook shares your name and email when you choose to sign in with Facebook.
- Apple — OAuth authentication. Apple shares your name and email (or a relay email) when you choose to sign in with Apple.
- Sentry — Error tracking and performance monitoring. Sentry receives error logs, stack traces, and basic device/browser information when errors occur.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. These service providers are contractually obligated to use your data only to provide their services to us.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data as follows:
- Account and profile data: Retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
- Messages: Retained while your account is active. Deleted when you delete your account.
- Photos: Removed from storage when you delete them from your profile or when you delete your account.
- Usage and error logs: Retained for up to 90 days for debugging and analytics, then automatically purged.
- Authentication tokens: Access tokens expire after 15 minutes. Refresh tokens expire after 30 days.

8. Cookies and Web Tracking
The Singles Ward website uses essential cookies and local storage for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. Third-party services embedded in the site may set their own cookies as described in their respective privacy policies.
9. Children's Privacy
